We are the only ones using a protein carrier to get nutrients to the cells’ energy centers
Often scientists who discover important concepts about the way that living things work are satisfied with their basic research. That is, they are content not to take it to the next level — using it to help others.
At this point it’s up to other scientists to bridge the gap between basic research and the applied research that goes into creating beneficial products or services.
A German researcher, Dr. Harald Guse, recognized the potential benefit to mankind of Dr. Gunter Blobel’s Nobel Prize-winning discoveries on how proteins get to the right locations in cells to create energy.
He used the concepts underlying Dr. Blobel’s work to create a patented technology for delivering vitamins and minerals to cells quicker and more efficiently. He obtained the original patent in 2008.
Impressed with the technology’s potential to help people lead healthier and more productive lives, Schaeffer Nutraceuticals acquired the patent in 2016. It became the basis for Vitaprotein, the main ingredient in the Viproactive® line of diet supplements that the company produces.
